The Scribe Windows media helper — FFmpeg 9.0.2

This package preserves the unmodified upstream FFmpeg release used to build
ffmpeg.exe and ffprobe.exe for The Scribe Windows 7.0.30. It also preserves
the MinGW-w64 14.0.0 runtime source and the exact Homebrew toolchain recipe.
BUILD-MANIFEST.json identifies the compiled binaries by SHA-256.

License: LGPL version 2.1 or later. GPL, version3, nonfree components and
external codec libraries were disabled. This is a separate command-line
program invoked by The Scribe; the application does not link FFmpeg libraries.
GCC runtime components retain their GCC Runtime Library Exception. MinGW
and winpthreads notices are included. FFmpeg includes IJG-derived code;
credit is given to the Independent JPEG Group. No source files were modified.

Build host: macOS arm64 with Homebrew mingw-w64 14.0.0_3 (GCC 16.2.0), NASM
3.02, POSIX shell and GNU make. The system C runtime is supplied by Windows.
The binary was built from these sources; byte-for-byte reproducibility on
another toolchain or host has not been claimed.

To rebuild on macOS with these tools on PATH:
  tar -xf ffmpeg-9.0.2.tar.xz -C /tmp
  mkdir /tmp/ffmpeg-scribe-build
  cd /tmp/ffmpeg-scribe-build
  /path/to/build-windows.sh /tmp/ffmpeg-9.0.2 /tmp/ffmpeg-scribe-install
Use paths without spaces for the FFmpeg source and build directories.
The script records every configure flag. config.h, config_components.h,
config.mak and config.log retain the actual build configuration.

To modify, extract the source archive, make your changes, then run the same
recipe. You can run the rebuilt helper separately or use it with your own
local application build. Source-code and reverse-engineering rights granted
by the component licenses are not restricted by The Scribe's software terms.

The old July 15, 2026 GPL build and its DLLs are not part of this replacement.
This package does not claim correspondence with that older build.
